Literature Text

I am the words that you speak. I blossom in the empty air. I light fireworks behind your eyes. I am plosive and I am sibilant. I am unseen, save for plumes of steam on a cold day. I am sound.

I am sound. I am syllables strung in a line. I have no inherent meaning. I am what you agree me to be. I am contract.

I am contract. I am addendums and codicils. I am unspoken loopholes. I am spelled out by gestures as much as by expelled air. I am speech.

I am speech. I am rhetoric. I am rules and I am form. I am syntax and grammar. I am a made thing.

I am a made thing. I am changing. I am in flux. I do not follow the old rules. I am an unmade thing.

I am the words that you speak.
